It's time to talk trade shows

March kicks off trade show season

For many people, the month of March brings mixed emotions. On one hand, it’s the month where we mark the official beginning of spring. On the other hand, we still have one more month of cold and snow to endure before the warmer weather arrives. On one hand, some of us are able to enjoy a much-needed break – a chance to take a trip to escape the winter doldrums. On the other hand, it’s the last month where we can enjoy a favourite winter activity such as skiing or snowmobiling.

Here at Recycle NB, the month of March generally means we are finalizing preparations for trade show season. We are busy organizing our displays, signage, information and, most importantly, our swag. As always, we will have shirts, jackets, hats and water bottles to give away. And yes, we will have our ever-popular fidget spinners for the younger visitors.

We love trade shows. They give us a chance to talk face-to-face with New Brunswickers about our programs – to explain in detail about the province’s designated materials, drop off locations and recycling tips. We are able to show you products made from the materials you recycle, such as tires and oil containers. We are also able to talk about exciting new programs that are in the works, including packaging and paper products, and pharmaceuticals and medical sharps.

Last year, we were able to connect with more than 1,000 people at the home shows, and we look forward to chatting with even more of you this year. Here are the four shows we will be attending in the coming weeks:

  • Saint John Home Show, March 10-12 at TD Harbour Station
  • Greater Moncton Home Show, March 17-19 at the Moncton Coliseum
  • Fredericton Home Show, April 14-16 at the Capital Exhibit Centre
  • Edmundston Home and Garden Show, May 5-7 at Centre Jean-Daigle and Pavillon Sportif d'Edmundston

We hope to see you there. In the meantime, happy recycling everyone!
